Who is responsible

Coook! is operated from Slovenia and is the data controller for the information described here. For anything about your data, email support@coook-app.com.

What we store

• Your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google — so you can log in.
• The links you submit, and for each one: the post's caption, a transcript of its audio, the recipe produced from it, and a copy of the video's thumbnail image.
• Your categories, meal plan and shopping list.
• How many free recipes you have used, and your subscription status.
• A Stripe customer ID. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers.

Why, and on what legal basis

We process your account details and content to provide the service you asked for — that is performance of our contract with you. We keep billing records because the law requires it. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell data to anyone, ever.

Who else processes it

• Supabase — database, authentication and image storage.
• Vercel — hosting and anonymous traffic analytics.
• OpenAI — receives the caption and the audio of the videos you submit, in order to transcribe them and write out the recipe. It is sent for that purpose only.
• Stripe — payments and subscription management.

Some of these are based outside the EU, so your data may be processed in the United States under the transfer safeguards in their terms.

Other people's posts

Coook! only reads posts that are already public. It never logs in to any social platform on your behalf, and it does not store video files — only the thumbnail image, the text it read, and the recipe written from it. Every recipe links back to the original post.

How long we keep it

Your recipes and plan stay until you delete them or delete your account. Delete the account and everything above is removed from the database straight away, apart from the billing records Stripe and tax law require us to retain.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to how we use it. Deleting your account from the Account page does most of this immediately. For anything else, email support@coook-app.com and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Slovenian Information Commissioner.

Cookies

We set only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure. No advertising or tracking cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner.
